Shipping Guide

Packing matters. Delicate electronics can survive shipment when they are immobilized, cushioned, and boxed with enough crush space.

Ask before shipping

Local pickup or drop-off is preferred for physical repairs. Small removable items may be approved for ship-in service case by case. Please contact us before shipping anything.

  • Contact us before shipping

    Send photos, dimensions, approximate weight, and a short description of the problem. Some large, fragile, or high-voltage items are local pickup only.

  • Remove loose parts

    Remove batteries, loose knobs, detachable cables, accessories, and anything that can move freely. Bag small parts and label them.

  • Protect fragile areas

    Cover glass, dial faces, switches, meters, and protruding controls with soft padding before wrapping the whole item.

  • Wrap the item tightly

    Use several inches of bubble wrap or soft foam on every side. The item should not be able to shift inside its first layer of protection.

  • Box with crush space

    Use a strong box with at least 2 to 4 inches of padding on every side. Heavy items need dense foam, not packing peanuts alone.

  • Double box valuable items

    Place the first packed box inside a second larger box with more padding between them. This is strongly recommended for radios, meters, clusters, and audio gear.

Include in the Box

  • Your name and contact information
  • Return shipping address
  • Brief issue description
  • Any approved quote or intake reference
  • Photos of the item before packing
  • Carrier tracking number after shipment

Avoid

  • Newspaper as the only padding
  • Loose packing peanuts around heavy gear
  • Oversized boxes with empty space
  • Leaving batteries installed
  • Shipping glass or knobs without extra protection
  • Sending an item without contact information inside the box
